Black people do not like little kittens. It is rare to see Black people with animals, especially dogs, but Black people are horribly frightened by cats, seemingly stemming from close contact to ferocious felines on the African sub-continent for thousands of years.
Evolutionary psychology has yet to pinpoint this paranoia, but for tens of thousands of years, Black people were forced to witness savage attacks by lions and other ancestors of kittens on their kin.
This sordid history with felines in Africa might be why 17-year-old Bronx native Cheyenne Cherry decided to roast her ex-roommate's kitten to death in a stove - while it was still alive.
Cherry, when arrested, brushed off the incident as a joke, ostensibly channeling thousands of years of Black people anguish at the hands of felines back in Africa.
She was quoted as saying:
"I hate cats."Cherry stole DVDs and a package of noodles, while also placing Tiger Lily - the beautiful kitten owned by her ex-roommate - into a stove.
It was stated that:
"...the kitten was burned so badly a necropsy had to be performed to determine its sex."Cherry has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, burglary, arson, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
This entire incident can be attributed to the brutality Black people faced in Africa at the hands of cats and the evolutionary impulse to see kittens, cats and other members of the Felidae genus as enemies of Black people everywhere.
