#719. McDonald's Celebrating Halloween

Posted on 13:48 by Unknown

There is a time and place that is now but an epoch of history, forever enshrined in the history books as an era of oppression, persecution and cultural hegemony fostered upon venerable Black people who were mere unwitting subjects to this endless parade of supremacy: Pre-Obama America.

Enshrined in the images of the 1950s, this America of
yesteryear was 90 percent white (1964) and in dire need of an injection of diversity, so a new people were imported to interact with the Black minority that was trying to assimilate themselves.

It is safe to state that the new term introduced to the vernacular in this country – Whitopia – would have been severely out of place in Pre-Obama America, for the nation as a whole was a Whitopia. Yes, the United States was once a Whitopia from sea to shining sea and this foolishness had to come to an end.

In this world of yore, a date existed on the calendar that all children looked forward too, for October 31 offered the opportunity for kids to collect free candy by going door to door in their neighborhoods.

This adventure into the Whitopia was an exercise in what Robert Putnam would eventually deride as now extinct due to the diversity we now have, which had to replace the evil oppression of the past:
“At the same time, though, Putnam's work adds to a growing body of research indicating that more diverse populations seem to extend themselves less on behalf of collective needs and goals.”
Halloween is a holiday for communities and can only be celebrated in areas of the country that are safe for children to travel in packs. Trust has to exist from household to household, so that doors can be opened and treats dispensed to costume-adorned children, whom could harbor tricks if the offerings aren’t satisfactory.

Once, a company found it imperative to work hand in hand with Whitopia’s across the increasingly Balkanizing United States to ensure that the families who frequented the restaurant would feel an attachment to the community, and continue to indulge in the food served under the Golden Arches.

Yes, we are talking about McDonald’s, a company that has served billions the world over, but got its start in the Whitopia that once was America:

“The present corporation dates its founding to the opening of a franchised restaurant by Ray Kroc, in Des Plaines, Illinois on April 15, 1955, the ninth McDonald's restaurant overall. Kroc later purchased the McDonald brothers' equity in the company and led its worldwide expansion and the company became listed on the public stock markets in 1965. Kroc was also noted for aggressive business practices, compelling the McDonald brothers to leave the fast food industry.

The McDonald brothers and Kroc feuded over control of the business, as documented in both Kroc's autobiography and in the McDonald brothers' autobiography. The site of the McDonald brothers' original restaurant is now a monument.

With the expansion of McDonald's into many international markets, the company has become a symbol of globalization and the spread of the American way of life. Its prominence has also made it a frequent topic of public debates about obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility.”

Yes, McDonald’s does accurately depict the “American way of life” or at least the path it is now traversing, for like Frosts “two roads diverging”, the United States decided to embark on a future removed from a universal “Whitopia” and opted for geographically scattered “Whitopia's” amidst a rising tide of color.

Now, McDonald’s marketing strategy is officially targeted at those who notoriously don’t pass on seconds - Black people - for Sprite and McDonald’s are a staple in Black peoples diet and the corporate giants behind these products believe that a mere 13 percent of population is enough of the market share to warrant 365Black:

“At McDonald's®, we believe that African-American culture and achievement should be celebrated 365 days a year — not just during Black History Month. That's the idea behind 365Black.com. It's a place where you can learn more about education, employment, career advancement and entrepreneurship opportunities, and meet real people whose lives have been touched by McDonald's."

With McDonald unveiling its 365Black campaign, it is clear that this corporate heavyweight no longer finds the contributions of those who inhabit Whitopia’s important, save for the occasional purchase of a value meal. Interestingly, this campaign might be paying off, for the same people who hate losing in the lottery our finding the calorie jackpot in the form of the $1 menu at McDonald’s:

“McDonald's Corp. on Thursday reported a 6% rise in third-quarter profit as new products and promotions helped fuel growth across all of its global markets.

Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald's /quotes/comstock/13*!mcd/quotes/nls/mcd (MCD 59.24, -0.19, -0.32%) earned $1.26 billion, or $1.15 a share, on the period up from $1.19 billion, or $1.05 a share, in the same quarter a year ago.”

The decision to market McDonald’s to Black people only in the United States has had one tremendously negative effect on a certain holiday: Halloween.

Once, McDonald’s marketing campaigns worked overtime to reflect the majority of the nation it wished to see frequent the many franchises that dotted the landscape, but that was in a time when the Whitopia’s of today was America of yesterday.

Most incredibly, McDonald’s had a long history of dedicating the month of October to Halloween, and catering it’s Happy Meal product to children through the innovative strategy of offering its kids meal in a candy-collecting, Halloween theme pail:

“In October 1986, America was introduced to three Halloween pails: McGoblin, McBoo, and McPunk'n. The buckets were presumably intended to be taken trick-or-treating and used to collect candy, but they are far too small for that. The buckets say they are safe for children ages 1 and over, but they're hardly useful to children over the age of 4. In my experience, the pumpkin pails hold roughly one street's worth of candy, assuming the street has at least 40 houses and none of them belong to dickheads with no Halloween spirit.

"But once you start kindergarten, a bucket's worth of candy just isn't enough. You realize that there's a whole town's worth of free candy out there for the taking and you make your mother take you all over the neighborhood until you have enough chocolate to last you until Easter. Or maybe you don't... but I did."

Not only did McDonald’s offer Halloween pails for young people, it offered a candy-collecting device for parents to use so that they didn’t have to purchase another said device, thanks to the fine folks at McDonald’s who were interested in community-building for other people, instead of the 365Black demographic, which oddly denies even the existence of 64 percent of United States citizens. (Once, McDonald's placated the majority as this website shows, prior to McDonald’s abandoning marketing to the Whitopia)

Interestingly, the Halloween pails that McDonald’s once issued haven’t been offered under the Golden Arches since 2001, and are nowhere to be found in the new marketing strategy that is 365Black, for Halloween can only work in neighborhoods where trust exists, community reigns and kids can have the freedom to roam without fear.

SBPDL is unsure why, given the criteria listed above, that McDonald's ditched the Halloween effort in the age of 365Black...

McDonald’s strategy to go 365Black has once again proven the adage, “Once you go Black, you never go Back,” for Halloween firmly rests in children's minds all year around. The marketing decision to position McDonald’s as an urban eatery, replete with the canonization of Black people year-round, has had the adverse effect of destroying the Halloween-centric Happy Meal.

Though McDonald’s profits might up in the short term, tailoring its marketing campaign to 13 percent of the United States truly has a short-sighted value proposition for potential investors.

Once, McDonald’s marketing gurus found Halloween an important enough Holiday to invest heavily into, but going 365Black has been a business decision that is strangely at odds with this holiday…

Stuff Black People Don’t Like includes McDonald’s celebrating Halloween, for if in the age of 365Black – well, to put it blunt, if Halloween were worth commending, it would be doing so. It is not, and for good reason. McDonald’s past Halloween marketing plans and product roll out (Happy Meal merchandise) were tied directly to an outdated line of thinking: placating Whitopia’s.

All that matters now is celebrating 365Black, and McDonald's is doing just that. Halloween, oddly, doesn’t fit the bill, for that is a Pre-Obama America celebration of a time that no longer exists, and a holiday that has nothing to do with 365Black.

#471. Rep. Joe Wilson

Posted on 19:41 by Unknown

Criticism of Mein Obama is a sure sign of racism in the eyes of Black people and their enablers, disingenuous white liberals.

Black people expected the honeymoon for Barack Obama to last for his entire first four years in office and well into his second term, but that all ended when MARs decided to attack from the Red States.

The decision to try and push universal healthcare has emboldened MARs like never before and has put Black people, their white handlers/enablers and Mein Obama into the defense:

"He [Obama] believes in all the "universal" programs because they "disproportionately affect" people of color. And that's the best way, he feels, to right the wrongs of the past. These massive programs are Obama brand reparations..."

"Yes, Glenn, programs to help the less well-off will help non-white minorities disproportionately, because... they are disproportionately less well-off. Just like hospitals disproportionately help sick people."
Why are Black people disproportionately less well-off? This will be explored in later SBPDL, but for now, it's important to discuss how many Black people lack insurance:

"Uninsured rates for working-age African-American adults are also high, with one-third (33%)—more than 6 million adults—uninsured or experiencing a gap in coverage during the year.

"African American adults have higher rates of health problems among both lower and higher income groups. Sixty-three percent of African American adults under 200% of poverty reported they had one of four chronic diseases (hypertension, heart disease, diabetes or asthma) or a disability, compared to half of low-income whites and 39 percent of low-income Hispanic adults. Forty-five percent of African American adults over 200% of poverty report health problems, compared to 32 percent of whites and 23 percent of Hispanics in the higher income group."

Most interestingly:
"About one-third (36%) of African American adults visited an emergency room for a condition that could have been treated by a regular doctor if one had been available, compared to 19% of Hispanics and 19% of whites."
As we have discussed, Black people don't pass on seconds, which can lead to massive health problems, as does consuming McDonald's food, which - McDonald's - is now (appropriately) 365Black! If Black people were a car in a NASCAR race, the Golden M of McDonald's would proudly be all over their vehicle.

Mein Obama has been feeling the heat from MARs and none more so than that from Rep. Joe Wilson, who dared to state that the emperor has no clothes:
"During President Obama's September 9, 2009 speech to a joint session of Congress, in which he addressed health care reform, Wilson interrupted the President during a statement that the America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 would not include coverage for illegal immigrants. (The bill specifically excludes illegal immigrants from receiving affordability credits,, but does not restrict noncitizens from participating in the Health Insurance Exchange.) In a breach of decorum, Wilson interrupted by pointing and shouting, "You lie!"."
Black people, white handlers/enablers and Mein Obama were all shocked that anyone would dare point out that the Emperor and his ideas are fabrications and were even more shocked that anyone would ever confront The Obama directly to his face, in front of his peers and a national audience.

Wilson has apologized for his outburst, but Black people and Mein Obama will not accept this laying down, for no one can criticize The Obama and get away with it. Worse, no beer summit has been put on either Obama or Wilson's calendar to sooth the problems that exist with foreign beer. Instead, Wilson has become the poster child for MARs everywhere:

"With a political arms race in full force, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) has raised almost $750,000 in less than 48 hours since his shout of "You lie!" to President Obama during the Wednesday address to Congress, almost matching the Internet-fueled haul of his likely Democratic opponent."
No one, no one can criticize Mein Obama, let a lone a goofy white person from South Carolina, who dares to interrupt The Obama while he is reading from a teleprompter. This act could have knocked him from his place on the teleprompter and he could have struggled reading his speech, like that one kid in your fourth grade class always did when you popcorned him during reading aloud sessions.

Stuff Black People Don't Like includes Rep. Joe Wilson, for he has dared to point out the emperor wears no clothes and his simple statement, "You lie!", has done more to damage the suit of armor that Mein Obama's white enablers had concocted for him than not cooperating with the police could ever have done.

365Black at SBPDL!

Posted on 18:56 by Unknown

Stuff Black People Don't Like prides itself on answering McDonald's call to be 365Black.We will bring you the goods on Stuff Black People Don't Like all day and everyday.

Nothing else will be discussed at www.SBPDL.com, because we feel it paramount to educate the world - not just America - on things that drive Black people crazy.

What is 365Black, you might ask? According to McDonald's new promotion:
"At McDonald's®, we believe that African-American culture and achievement should be celebrated 365 days a year — not just during Black History Month. That's the idea behind 365Black.com. It's a place where you can learn more about education, employment, career advancement and entrepreneurship opportunities, and meet real people whose lives have been touched by McDonald's."
We here at SBPDL have been trying to tell you that "you live in a Black world now" and this new promotion from McDonald's couldn't be any more clear in who they hope to elevate: Black people.

Of course, Black people and McDonald's have been featured twice thus far at SBPDL and we will once again do our 365Black duty in ensuring that you know about them: Memphis and McDonald's and 911 and McDonald's.

#356. Memphis Transvestites

Posted on 19:10 by Unknown

Black people love McDonald's. We have already discussed Black people's disdain for running of Chicken McNuggets, a faux pas worthy of calling 911 over.

McDonald's and Black people have a special connection that few can deny. First, they serve Coke products at McDonald's, which naturally means they serve Sprite - the official drink of Black people - and the commercials for the fast-food giant also are heavily slanted to Black people's enjoyment.

McDonald's has long gone after the market share of 13 percent of the United States population by targeting only Black people to frequent its Golden Arch's and enjoy tasty hamburgers, McNuggets and wash it down with plenty of Sprite ( remember that what you see on TV in regards to athletics does not correlate to the actual US population, which is only 13 percent Black).

No, there exist few places on earth as beloved by Black people as McDonald's and because of this we get yet another glimpse into the macabre world of Stuff Black People Don't Like.

Sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction, but with Black people nothing is stranger than combining your wildest fantasy with a heaping dose of truth to come up with the startling reality of life in 21st century Post-Obama America.

At a Memphis-area McDonald's, three local patrons were starving for a heaping portion of McNuggets and Sprite and found their patronage dismissed by the Black people working inside.

The three patrons (all Black people) happened to be dressed as women, as they were Memphis Transvestites in dire need of McDonald's. What follows is the story from the Memphis Flyer:

"Things got a little out of order after three hungry transvestites found their service at a Memphis McDonald's drive-thru unsatisfactory. The three, er, men, tried to get the manager's attention by tapping on the drive-thru window, and when they were ignored, decided to grab a tire iron and go inside and throw a supersize tantrum."

"As any good cross-dressers would, the three began to kick off stiletto boots (to better keep their balance while swinging), remove hoop earrings (no danger of having them yanked out), and take off their jackets (less restriction of movement) in order to deliver a McWhoopin' on the staff."
Yes, the three Memphis Transvestites were so upset over the lack of service at McDonald's that they assaulted the employees. It does beat calling 911, as another Black person did, but still, the story takes a most dramatic turn:
"The manager retaliated with a pot of scalding French-fry grease. When all was said and done, one worker was sent to the hospital by ambulance, windows were smashed, and the three trannies escaped before the police arrived."
Memphis transvestites do not like scalding French-fry grease, especially when it is provided by a manager of their favorite restaurant, McDonald's.

Black people love McDonald's. McDonald's, in turn, markets its product almost entirely at Black people and to the Black community.

However, Stuff Black People Don't Like is Memphis Transvestites, for they are a bane in the Black community and endanger McDonald's employees in each of the 18 McDonald's in the greater Memphis area.
