The Tenth Day of Christmas at SBPDL - Kwanzaa

Posted on 21:41 by Unknown

The 26th of December has a special place in the hearts and minds of disingenuous white liberals everywhere: it is the start of a week-long celebration of innate Blackness and the glory of Black people, Kwanaa!:

Kwanzaa is a weeklong celebration held in the United States honoring universal African heritage and culture, marked by participants lighting a kinara (candle holder).[1] It is observed from December 26 to January 1 each year, primarily in the United States.

Kwanzaa consists of seven days of celebration, featuring activities such as candle-lighting and libations, and culminating in a feast and gift giving. It was created by Ron Karenga and was first celebrated from December 26, 1966 to January 1, 1967.

Kwanzaa... the event that Black people eagerly await for year-round, where disingenuous white liberals heap praise and joy upon them for the creativity in concocting such an ethnocentric holiday, devoid of white peoples help. Much like when a crusading white pedagogue teaches a Black person the quadratic equation, white people garner a deep sense of pride when Black people celebrate Kwanzaa - all by themselves!

Take this fantastic write-up in the San Francisco Chronicle, a city that has more than 800,000 people and a whopping 6 percent of them are Black, yet the white liberals who populate that metropolis treat the Black people there like Kindergartners who just learned the alphabet.

Here is the official webpge of Kwanaa, and a message from the founder of this monumental festival of Blackness, the incomparable Dr. Maulana Karenga:
As an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community, Kwanzaa brings a cultural message which speaks to the best of what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense. Given the profound significance Kwanzaa has for African Americans and indeed, the world African community, it is imperative that an authoritative source and site be made available to give an accurate and expansive account of its origins, concepts, values, symbols and practice.

Moreover, given the continued rapid growth of Kwanzaa and the parallel expanded discussion of it and related issues, an authoritative source which aids in both framing and informing the discussion is likewise of the greatest importance. Therefore, the central interest of this website is to provide information which reveals and reaffirms the integrity, beauty and expansive meaning of the holiday and thus aids in our approaching it with the depth of thought, dignity, and sense of specialness it deserves.

The holiday, then will of necessity, be engaged as an ancient and living cultural tradition which reflects the best of African thought and practice in its reaffirmation of the dignity of the human person in community and culture, the well-being of family and community, the integrity of the environment and our kinship with it, and the rich resource and meaning of a people's culture.
Kwanzaa celebrates the Seven Principles of Blackness, and these include:
  • Umoja (Unity): To strive for and to maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
  • Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves.
  • Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility): To build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems, and to solve them together.
  • Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics): To build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and to profit from them together.
  • Nia (Purpose): To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.
  • Kuumba (Creativity): To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
  • Imani (Faith): To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.
These are admirable principles and worthy of adulation from all people. Black people should feel pride in these ideals and strive to maintain them. However, a cursory glance at this website would show you that these seven principles of Kwanzaa are forgotten throughout most of the year.

However, an interesting historian - one Ann Coulter - has found some unappealing truths about Kwanzaa that paint a darker picture than the already Black hue of Kwanzaa would care for, as the holiday is nothing but a sham:
President Bush's 2005 Kwanzaa message began with the patently absurd statement: "African-Americans and people around the world reflect on African heritage during Kwanzaa."

I believe more African-Americans spent this season reflecting on the birth of Christ than some phony non-Christian holiday invented a few decades ago by an FBI stooge. Kwanzaa is a holiday for white liberals, not blacks.

It is a fact that Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a black radical FBI stooge, Ron Karenga, aka Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of United Slaves, a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers and a dupe of the FBI.

In what was probably ultimately a foolish gamble, during the madness of the '60s the FBI encouraged the most extreme black nationalist organizations in order to discredit and split the left. The more preposterous the organization, the better. Karenga's United Slaves was perfect. In the annals of the American '60s, Karenga was the Father Gapon, stooge of the czarist police...

Kwanzaa itself is a lunatic blend of schmaltzy '60s rhetoric, black racism and Marxism. Indeed, the seven "principles" of Kwanzaa praise collectivism in every possible arena of life — economics, work, personality, even litter removal. ("Kuumba: Everyone should strive to improve the community and make it more beautiful.") It takes a village to raise a police snitch...

Now the "holiday" concocted by an FBI dupe is honored in a presidential proclamation and public schools across the nation. Bush called Kwanzaa a holiday that promotes "unity" and "faith." Faith in what? Liberals' unbounded capacity to respect any faith but Christianity?
The conservative vixen wrote another column on Kwanzaa here.

The Washington Post saw fit to publish one Michael Eric Dyson, an individual we have yet to chronicle here at SBPDL - but will soon - as he exalted the virtues of Kwanzaa and how it relates to one Mein Obama, Barack Obama:
The political climate affects black rituals too. A lot has been made of the number of posts that black life confronts: post-soul, post-black, post-racial, and post-civil rights. In this era of black posts, pillars fall, whether civil rights leaders whose approach is viewed as passé, or as rituals of black cohesion are viewed by many blacks as quaint and largely irrelevant. A lot of that talk picked up pace with the election of Barack Obama as president, a monumental event that eclipsed black fears in some quarters (racism could no longer keep black folk from the big prizes of American life), exacerbated them in others (because of his success the bulk of blacks who continue to struggle might be forgotten). What's a people - and how is "people" exactly defined in such conditions - to do?

But the holiday's most faithful practitioners proclaim its original intent: bridging black folk across the chasms of land, language, water and religion as they forge solidarity in resisting obstacles and embracing opportunities to their common destiny. As the devotees of Kwanzaa understand, those aspirations have never been of much interest to the mainstream during any period of the nation's history. And the increased fortunes of black folk cause many of them to focus their energy and attention elsewhere. But for its true believers, Kwanzaa is as relevant and necessary now as it's ever been.
Consequently, Kwanzaa is treated - by many Black people - as an absolute joke, unless you are an disingenuous white liberal or an adherent of a religious movement that makes the Hale-Bopp Heaven's Gate cult look sane in comparison.

Black people love a good party - especially a block party - and a week-long celebration in their own honor should be grounds for Bacchanalian revelry. However Kwanzaa isn't celebrated by a majority of Black people:

"The holiday was a way for African Americans to honor their culture, but it was also part of the black power movement of the era. The big boom in Kwanzaa came during its first two decades, according to Keith Mayes, author of "Kwanzaa: Black Power and the Making of the African-American Holiday Tradition."

But he said participation has leveled off. Based on his research, he estimates a half-million to 2 million people in the U.S. celebrate Kwanzaa, out of about 40 million Americans identified by the U.S. Census as black, including those who are multiracial.

Although Kwanzaa started here, it has become a Pan-African holiday. The African American Cultural Center places the number of those who observe Kwanzaa worldwide at 30 million, but even that is a small fraction of the hundreds of millions of people of African descent all over the world."

Some might even argue the kinara is going dim on the glory that was Kwanzaa, and once its magnificent light dims the magic of the holiday will be lost forever.

Let's be honest. Black people already a holiday that unites them forever, for it is the date that officially but to rest Pre-Obama America: January 20, 2008.

Stuff Black People Don't Like includes Kwanzaa, for this pathetic attempt at showing disingenuous white liberals the creative mind of Black people was really a blatant job at coloring outside the lines.

Black people find this celebration disconcerting and feckless, for if they wanted anything to do with Africa in 2009, then they would gladly return to whence they came.

#41. The Greatest Generation

Posted on 06:59 by Unknown
(While you read this, listen to this song)

"December 7, 1941 - a date that will live in infamy...," so said Franklin Roosevelt 68 years ago today, in the wake of the horrific surprise attack by the Empire of Japan on US Naval forces based in Hawaii:
"The attack sank four U.S. Navy battleships (two of which were raised and returned to service later in the war) and damaged four more. The Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, and one minelayer, destroyed 188 aircraft, and caused personnel losses of 2,402 killed and 1,282 wounded."
This attack by Japan awoke the so-called "sleeping giant" and forced the United States to declare war upon them (and eventually Germany and Italy) and enter World War II against the Axis Powers.

Have you seen the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor? Dorie Miller had his story immortalized in Michael Bay's movie, as Cuba Gooding Jr., played the real-life Casey Ryback/ John Rambo killer combo, wielding a machine gun and blasting away the Japanese.

As the Michael Bay movie shows, had this Black seamen not engaged the enemy, World War II would have been lost from the start.

After this attack, a formerly isolationist nation would mobilize quickly and put forth one of the most impressive fighting forces the world has ever seen, in an effort to subdue the Japanese and the threat of Fascism in Europe for good.

Answering the call of Uncle Sam were millions upon millions of Americans, as the nation of 130 million would see almost 11 percent of its population engaging the enemy in war.

It is important to remember that the United States in 1940 was a completely different nation than we are today. The nation was comprised of almost 90 percent white people, with Black people comprising roughly nine percent.

The United States had a segregated military up until 1948:
"African Americans have served in the U.S. military since the days of George Washington, but it took until July 26, 1948, for the country to begin living up the democratic ideals that they fought to defend.

As World War II approached, the United States found itself opposed to fascist regimes and their racist ideologies, yet it had to reckon with the hard reality that many of its own 12.6 million African-American citizens -- about 10 percent of the population at the time -- were denied basic civil rights and human opportunities.

The bitter irony that President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “Four Freedoms” (freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear) set forth as U.S. war aims were largely unavailable to African Americans did not stop 2.5 million black men from registering for the military draft. More than 1 million eventually served in all branches of the armed forces during World War II. In addition, thousands of African-American women volunteered as combat nurses."

Why point this out? Well, to put it mildly, Black people didn't have that much of a role in World War II and the defeat of the Axis Powers. An interesting United States government Defense website completely glosses over Black involvement in World War Two, save for the aforementioned Dorie Miller and the vaunted Tuskegee Airmen.

What Black people actually did in World War II is quite interesting, as the United States government decided to keep most of the Black soldiers away from the conflict (and thus, incapable of duplicating Miller's Pearl Harbor exploits):

1944
By this time, the War Department’s critical need for troops overseas helped to ease opposition to the dispatch of black servicemen to the European or Pacific theaters.

The number of African Americans serving in-theater jumped from 97,725 in 1941 to 504,000 in 1943. However, 425,000 black troops remained in the United States. The military claimed that allied foreign nations objected to the presence of black troops, but it was usually American commanders overseas who opposed their assignment.

17 July 1944
The worst home front disaster of WWII occurred when two ships, the E.A. Bryan and the Quinalt Victory, docked at Port Chicago, California, exploded one night while African-American sailors were loading ammunition for use in the Pacific theater. Both ships and the loading pier were destroyed, while many of the nearby town’s buildings also suffered severe damage.

Of the 320 men killed, 202 of them were black enlisted men; the blast also injured 390 men. The worst military loss of life in the continental United States during WWII, this one incident involved 15 percent of all African Americans wounded or killed in this conflict.

Despite the extensive casualties, however, sailors were ordered to resume loading on 9 August 1944, with no training or procedural changes to help safeguard against another such catastrophe. Because they were afraid of another explosion, 258 African-American sailors refused to comply with orders.

The U.S. Navy court martialed 50 men for mutiny and tried the other 208 on lesser charges. Those convicted of mutiny were sentenced to 15 years in prison, but after the war they were granted amnesty. However, their original convictions were not overturned. Ultimately, though, this incident did result in changes affecting racial relations in the Navy, because ammunition loading ceased to be a "blacks only" assignment. The Navy also adopted safer procedures for loading ammunition.

Only 708 Black people died in combat during World War II, in a war that saw 418,500 Americans die while defending freedom and democracy from tyranny and oppression.

It is important to remember that racial views in the 1940s weren't as angelic as they're now, and that prejudicial and ignorant views of Black people were the norm. Black people were second-class citizens in America, and decided to wage a war against oppression at home, while white people were slaying evil yellow and white people abroad:
"The African American community in the United States resolved on a Double V Campaign: Victory over fascism abroad, and victory over discrimination at home. Large numbers migrated from poor Southern farms to munitions centers.

Racial tensions were high in overcrowded cities like Chicago; Detroit and Harlem experienced race riots in 1943.The derogative name jig was coined during this time. The Pittsburgh Courier created the Double V Campaign after readers began commenting on their second class status during wartime."
While the Double V Campaign was being waged in America, white American troops were busy engaging the enemy in the Pacific Theater and eventually in the German-occupied European continent.

The millions of white people who fought tyranny, nationalism and fascism abroad and the hundreds of thousands who died so doing, were working to ensure that the goals of the Double V campaign would come to fruition at some point, even if they didn't consciously know it.

Pre-Obama America was a diseased land and needed to be cleansed of its boring whiteness. Sure, these overwhelming white troops defeated evil in World War II, and they even had the honor of being dubbed "The Greatest Generation" for their efforts:
"The Greatest Generation" is a term coined by journalist Tom Brokaw to describe the generation who grew up in the United States during the deprivation of the Great Depression, and then went on to fight in World War II, as well as those whose productivity within the war's home front made a decisive material contribution to the war effort."
But these Real American Heroes fought World War II so that the world we currently live in could be birthed; could see its genesis. These white people defeated Japan, a people who have never had a lofty opinion of Black people, and the Germans (who treated Jesse Owens with more respect than he would receive in America).

The Greatest Generation returned home from WWII victorious, and would then wage a war upon racism within its states to ensure true equality to all people, of all races.

Black people owe The Greatest Generation an almost inconceivable and repayable debt, for they bestowed Black people equality after the war and handed the reigns of power to them completely.

The United States enjoyed an unbelievable epoch of prosperity after World War II, which saw an unprecedented growth of the middle-class that affected white people, as well as Black people.

White people fled the major cities, leaving them to be governed by Black people and inadvertently destroying the old identity of those cities and instilling a negative stereotype of the urban jungle for all eternity.

Untold billions would be spent - the hard-earned tax dollars of The Greatest Generation - on Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society programs, as every attempt to remake the average American Black person into your average white person would be undertaken.

Yet these members of The Greatest Generation sacrificed countless lives in the war (more than 400,000 white Americans gave their lives so this new world of equality could exist) to usher in the new America - which might never be absolved of white racism.

The greatness of the era right after WWII - some might call it Pleasantville - was but a glimpse of a country that could have been, but was to be sacrificed to the Gods of Blackness.

In retrospect, Black people owe America and The Greatest Generation absolutely nothing (as long as they continue to entertain us with their dazzling sports skills). The cumulative sacrifices of white people in World War II register barely a penitence for the historical stain of racism that Black people must constantly remember and put hardly a dint in bitter narrative of white supremacy that dominates the colored people of the world like a rampaging river.

Like Damocles Sword, white guilt is the bitter legacy of The Greatest Generation, for they extirpated a nation that seemed poised to preside over the world's affairs and usher in an irenic era of continued growth and unabated happiness.

However, this misguided sense of destiny was supplanted by the work of disingenuous white liberals - who constantly repent for their whiteness - and the crusading white pedagogues - those poor souls who fight and try to undo nature - as they constantly maneuver to heap scorn upon this misnamed Greatest Generation as just an extension of Nazi Germany (whoops, that was by the books author).

These members of the The Greatest Generation represent one of the last links of the chain to an era of racism, oppression and evil, even though this group did more to ensure that Black people had a seat at the table. Don't worry, they will soon be gone:

"In 2000, there were 555,974, WWII veterans in California, according to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. There are now 213,118. Ten years from now, just 30,370 will be alive. Across the nation, we lose 900 WWII veterans a day.

It is urgent that we honor these heroes now, while there is time. Strangely, given the scope, magnitude and importance of World War II, America had been woefully late in acknowledging a debt we can never repay to those who defended the liberty we take for granted."
With each passing of a veteran of World War II, the rapidity of the air coming out Pre-Obama America speeds up. Will an article one day appear in an America newspaper much like this one from England?"

"Nearly 400,000 Britons died. Millions more were scarred by the experience, physically and mentally.

But was it worth it? Her answer - and the answer of many of her contemporaries, now in their 80s and 90s - is a resounding No.

They despise what has become of the Britain they once fought to save. It's not our country any more, they say, in sorrow and anger.

In one letter in this collection, an RAF mechanic quoted a poem about comrades who fell in battle: 'I mourned them then, But now surviving in a world, Indifferent to their hopes and dreams, I grieve more for the living.'

The Greatest Generation is a sickening reminder to the inhabitants of Obama's America of a stain that no matter how hard it is scrubbed, can never be removed. The dreams, ambitions, sacrifices and goals of these brave men and women built the country we live in today.

Paradoxically, Black people cannot be to happy with this generation for they kept Black people from contributing fully in World War II. Yet, the dichotomy of this situation is equally a tragedy: this experience of divisiveness would ensure that Black people received full integration into America life.

Worse, The Greatest Generation is forced to undergo a Crayola Moment as the overbearing whiteness of this group is in dire need of a good 21st century revisionist coloring.

Where can this be found? Easy. Movies. People believe truth to be formulated by what they visualize and favorable impressions of historically inaccurate "truths" can be conjured through the magic of cinema:
"On February 19 1945 Thomas McPhatter found himself on a landing craft heading toward the beach on Iwo Jima.

"There were bodies bobbing up all around, all these dead men," said the former US marine, now 83 and living in San Diego. "Then we were crawling on our bellies and moving up the beach. I jumped in a foxhole and there was a young white marine holding his family pictures. He had been hit by shrapnel, he was bleeding from the ears, nose and mouth. It frightened me. The only thing I could do was lie there and repeat the Lord's prayer, over and over and over."

Sadly, Sgt McPhatter's experience is not mirrored in Flags of Our Fathers, Clint Eastwood's big-budget, Oscar-tipped film of the battle for the Japanese island that opened on Friday in the US. While the film's battle scenes show scores of young soldiers in combat, none of them are African-American. Yet almost 900 African-American troops took part in the battle of Iwo Jima, including Sgt McPhatter.

The film tells the story of the raising of the stars and stripes over Mount Suribachi at the tip of the island. The moment was captured in a photograph that became a symbol of the US war effort. Eastwood's film follows the marines in the picture, including the Native American Ira Hayes, as they were removed from combat operations to promote the sale of government war bonds.

Mr McPhatter, who went on to serve in Vietnam and rose to the rank of lieutenant commander in the US navy, even had a part in the raising of the flag. "The man who put the first flag up on Iwo Jima got a piece of pipe from me to put the flag up on," he says. That, too, is absent from the film.

"Of all the movies that have been made of Iwo Jima, you never see a black face," said Mr McPhatter. "This is the last straw. I feel like I've been denied, I've been insulted, I've been mistreated. But what can you do? We still have a strong underlying force in my country of rabid racism."

Spike Lee accused the film's director, Clint Eastwood, of racism, for not showing a single Black face in his World War II movies:

In round one, Lee came out swinging at Director Clint Eastwood's WWII films, "Flags of Our Fathers" and "Letters from Iwo Jima," claiming that Eastwood "erased the role of black GIs from history." Lee tried on his self-righteous air of moral certitude and labeled Eastwood a racist. "Many black veterans who fought in Iwo Jima were hurt that there was no representation of them in both of those films," Lee said in an interview in Rome last year.

Round two began as the blow fell upon Eastwood in an interview with Focus magazine. Why was Eastwood such a racist, they wondered? Eastwood, momentarily rocked on his heels, came back with a knock out blow showing the world that, aging or not, he was still faster and smarter than the bespeckled, racemongering Lee.

"Does he know anything about American history?" Eastwood told Focus when asked about Lee's criticism. "The U.S. military was segregated til the Korean War, and the blacks in World War Two were totally segregated. The only black battalion on Iwo Jima was a small munitions supply unit that came to the beach.

"The story was about the men who raised the flag and we can't make them black if they were not there. So tell him: Why don't you go back and study your history and stop mouthing off!"

You see, the coming decades will see an erosion of historical facts and the inclusion of more Black faces into the tale of World War II so that Dorie Miller can have some much deserved colored company.

For Stuff Black People Don't Like includes The Greatest Generation, as the war these white people fought was won without the help of Black soldiers and worse, in a period of time when Black people faced rampant discrimination at home. How can these people - The Greatest Generation - be the source of simultaneous pride and yet universal scorn for their racial chauvenism?

The answer is simple: they can't. The Greatest Generation will fade into obscurity and memory as they leave this realm of existence and depart for the afterlife.

A new group will be awarded the moniker The Greatest Generation, for the defeat of Japan and Germany by white people no longer reflects the multiracial splendor that is 21st America. That title will be reserved Obama's generation.

#123. Those Who Can See

Posted on 21:15 by Unknown

We at SBPDL talk about college football and sports all the time for one simple reason: without sports, Black people would have absolutely no positive images to project to the American people.

Integration and the breakdown of entrenched dogmatic white supremacy in every institution in America only occurred when white people realized they could derive enjoyment out of watching Black people compete in sports.

We still live in a world where Black people commit crimes at an unprecedented level against white people, yet we live in a world where they make up 68 percent of the NFL on-field employees and 80 percent of the NBA competitors (these numbers don't eradicate the reality of crime in the USA):
  • Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85 percent and whites commit 15 percent.
  • Blacks commit more violent crime against whites than against blacks. Forty-five percent of their victims are white, 43 percent are black, and 10 percent are Hispanic. When whites commit violent crime, only three percent of their victims are black.
Hate Facts, you might protest, are being utilized again to denigrate Black people. This entire website is comprised of Hate Facts, even including the Michael Oher entry (do you realize that without white people, The Blind Side could never have been filmed?), for any person pointing out faults within the Black community obviously has racist intentions.

Wrong. Black people understand this world perfectly. They look to Africa as a continent devoid of hope, reason and a future (save for the Chinese exploitation of it and the impending Human Rights nightmare), and wonder why white people even bother.

Black people live an incredible life in America, where billions of dollars are thrown their way to educate them, promote them ahead of every other race and ensure their domestic tranquility.

Disingenuous white liberals
work extra hard to provide a luxurious lifestyle for Black people and the tools necessary to educate them to the highest degree possible.

Crusading white pedagogues strive to close the racial gap in learning - which even the election of Barack Obama failed to close - but only endanger themselves in the process.

Sports, you see, is the only reason Black people haven't all been sent to Monrovia, Liberia by now, and any honest Black person will nod their head in unison at this remark.

Every opportunity to assimilate into mainstream American life has been offered to Black people, yet they have steadfastly refused to for decades, instead finding solace in the "perpetually victimized-class" status and continuing to hold this nation hostage in a vice of racial guilt.

Sadly, this age will pass and the glory of Black sports achievements will be forgotten as the reality of crime, substandard test scores that trillions of dollars can't remedy and rotting unlivable cities will provide the necessary sunglasses for people to see clearly.

Don't understand the sunglasses reference? Allow a quick They Live explanation to fill you in:
"Part science fiction thriller and part dark comedy, the film echoed contemporary fears of a declining economy, within a culture of greed and conspicuous consumption common among Americans in the 1980s. In They Live, the ruling class within the monied elite are in fact aliens managing human social affairs through the use of a signal on top of the tv broadcast that is concealing their appearance and subliminal messages in Mass media....

When Nada later dons the glasses for the first time, the world appears in shades of grey, with significant differences. He notices that a billboard now simply displays the word "Obey"; without them it advertises that Control Data Corporation is "creating a transparent computing environment." Another billboard (normally displaying "Come to the Caribbean" written above a lovely woman lying on a beach) now displays the text "Marry and Reproduce." He also sees that paper money bears the words "This is your God." All printed matter around him contains subliminal advertising.

Additionally, he soon discovers that many people are actually aliens, who are human-looking except for skull-like faces. When the aliens realize he can see them for what they truly are, the police suddenly arrive. Nada escapes and steals a police shotgun; while evading the police, he accidentally stumbles into a local bank filled with aliens. Realizing that the jig is up, he proclaims, "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum."
Right now, those who can see the truth of 21st century are demonized and called racists, bigots even. They are lepers and must be driven from polite society for they infect everyone with the impetuous notion of prejudicial thinking.

Yet those who can see the truth of 21st century America are precisely Stuff Black People Don't Like, for they operate on a playing field that most Black people do.

Those who can see exist diametrically opposed to those who currently run the nation, yet stand as a reminder that like Yeats, this era of Black dominance can change at any moment:
"All changed, changed utterly:
A terrible beauty is born."
A terrible beauty will be born when those who can see grows in number. For on that day, Black people will realize bubble gum will be hard to come by, and sports achievements will account for the worth of a handful of sand at the beach.

And a lot of Black people will ask: what took you so long?

#540. The Michael Oher Story

Posted on 08:36 by Unknown

Question: What is 6'4 and 310 LBS. of cuddly warmth? If you answered Michael Oher, you would be correct.

Oher is a member of the National Football League and one of that organizations most prized employees, for he is also the subject of an upcoming movie that details his incredible life:
"The Blind Side" depicts the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.

Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle."
Be honest with yourself: what is more heartwarming and touching then a bourgeois white family opening their home to a down-trodden Black dude in need of an abode and vast amounts of tutoring to ensure he can stay eligible in high school to one day need even more tutoring to stay eligible in college?:

"Oher's father, murdered while Oher was a senior in high school, was not involved in his upbringing. His mother was addicted to crack cocaine. As a result, he received little constructive attention during his formative years. He repeated both first grade and second grade, and attended eleven different schools during his first nine years as a student. He also alternated between time spent in various foster homes and periods with no fixed address until he was sixteen years old.
That year, Oher applied for admission to a private school, Briarcrest Christian School, at the instigation of acquaintance Tony Henderson, with whom he was staying temporarily. Henderson was sending his son to the school in order to fulfill the dying wish of the boy's grandmother, and he decided that Oher might as well come along. Although the school's football coach was interested in Oher, school administrators did not feel that he was capable of handling the school's academic workload due to his scant educational background; however, he was admitted after he attempted to qualify for admission through a home-study program that removed him from the public education system.
A couple with a daughter at the school, Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy, allowed Oher to move in with them and began taking care of his needs after becoming familiar with his difficult personal circumstances. They also connected him with a tutor, who worked with him for twenty hours a week. He eventually brought his 0.9 grade point average up to 2.65. Later, the Tuohy family adopted him."
Stuff Black People Don't Like has pointed out one truth that cuts to the core of modern America: were it not for sports, it would be next to impossible to find a positive example of Black people in America. Black Entertainment Television (BET) does a wonderful job in perpetuating negative stereotypes of Black people, as does all of gangsta rap and Chris Brown and Rihanna.

However, sports (especially football) offer a rare glimpse into an activity that Black people excel at, without any mention of affirmative action or special privileges being put in place to grant Black people a competitive advantage over white people.

Watching Football Night in America on NBC (or any NFL telecast) one would be led to believe that America is a land where Black people are worshiped (consider the NFL is 65 percent Black, yet the United States is only 13 percent Black), since the vast majority of spectators in the stands are white people.

Mr. Oher is an admirable chap, as he went to both the University of Mississippi and was the Token Black at his high school - demographically speaking, Briarcrest Christian School is hideously white.

Yet, this story doesn't have the fairy tale ending that it should have, because it bespeaks an uncomfortable truth to all Black people everywhere: the only way to true success in life - if you are a 6-4, 310 LBS. Black dude - is to be adopted by a rich white family where you can live a peaceful life, which is not available in the Black community.

Is the white community that much more stable than the life that Black people and Black fathers can provide their children? Since Hollywood is producing a movie, starring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw, based on Oher story, SBPDL would like to suggest that Hollywood is trying to say only white people are capable of raising non-white children in a loving, nurturing environment.

Why else would the commercials for this film be so ubiquitous on television? Had Oher never been adopted by this loving white family, then he would more than likely have failed out of his high school, never have played college football and never have been drafted by the Baltimore Ravens.

Instead, he would be a statistic, much like the ones denoted in this recent article:
"For example, most of the black characters in Mad Men have servile jobs. Today, of course, things are infinitely better. Black men are seldom seen in servile jobs (unless they are African immigrants or gay). In fact, black men aren’t seen in any jobs as much anymore: ten percent of black men were out of the work force in Don Draper’s 1960 versus 24 percent in booming 2000.

Indeed, black men aren’t even seen at all as much anymore because a million are now locked away in prison. (The incarceration rate of black male high school dropouts was
one percent in the Bad Old Days of Dwight Eisenhower’s last year in office versus 25 percent in Bill Clinton’s glorious finale.)"
The moral of the story is simple: Michael Oher would be in jail or the streets were it not for the benevolent actions of a white family to magnanimously welcome him into the home, where he found compassionate people who cared for his well-being:

"Michael Oher grew up in inner-city Memphis. In and out of foster care, Michael’s lucky break came when his dying grandmother extracted a promise from a family friend to get Michael into a private school.
Michael was enrolled in a private Christian school called Briarcrest. On a cold day, a parent of another Briarcrest student found Michael breaking into the school to stay warm. The parent, Leah Anne Tuohy, a successful interior designer and wife of a Memphis businessman, took Michael in. Despite the fact that Michael scarcely spoke, a bond developed between the Tuohys and Michael and they eventually adopted him.
Although he had never played sports Michael was a natural athlete and was identified immediately by college scouts as a potential NFL left tackle. If Michael could get to college and play football, he was very likely to win a multimillion dollar contract to protect a quarterback’s blind side.
The Tuohys and the faculty at Briarcrest engaged in a Herculean effort to make Michael eligible for college. When Michael came to Briarcrest he had only erratically attended school, could scarcely read and knew little about anything.
Lewis skillfully explains the role of poverty in education, writing, “Michael wasn’t stupid. He was ignorant, but a lot of people mistook ignorance for stupidity, and knowingness for intelligence. He’d been denied the life experience that led to knowingness, which every other kid at Briarcrest took for granted.”
Michael was not unintelligent, but he was profoundly uneducated. Leah Anne would, for example, take Michael to an Italian restaurant and order multiple meals in order teach him the difference between different types of pasta dishes.
The implications of Michael’s story for public policy are profound as well. Lewis writes, “Michael Oher was in possession of what had to be among the more conspicuous athletic gifts…and yet, without outside intervention even his talent would likely have been thrown away…If Michael Oher’s talent could be missed, whose couldn’t? Those poor black kids [in the inner-city] were like left tackles: people whose values were hidden in plain sight.”
With a committed family, school, and private tutors, Michael was accepted to college.
Today he is approaching his senior year at the University of Mississippi, made all-conference as a sophomore and junior, and carries a 3.7 grade point average.
Michael made it. But he is very much the exception. For every six inner-city Memphis public school kids with the athletic ability to play college sports, only one qualifies academically to attend college. This says something about the state of inner-city public education."

Let's be honest: the gregarious nature of the white family to spend vast amounts of money to ensure that Mr. Oher was eligible to play football is the sole reason why the Chinese are buying United States debt, for the Chinese are so worried about the melancholy existence of Black people in the inner-cities of America.

Of course, not everyone shares the exuberance that SBPDL does for the film (release date set for 11/20/09):

"The book is an analysis of the evolution of the left tackle position, using as illustration the story of why seemingly every rich white person in West Memphis was willing to bend over backwards for a young, disadvantaged man who perfectly fit the physical specs of an LT. It tells the story of Michael Oher, a black teen who out of sheer luck ends up at a nearly all-white prep school. His coaches and other school parents see his potential as a pro athlete and take him under their wing.
I loved Michael Lewis' book for a couple of reasons. First of all, I love football, and offensive linemen are my favorite unsung heroes of the game, so the fact that Lewis focused on their work was fascinating for me. But the book also brings up some pretty heavy issues for discussion (though certainly not as in-depth as I would've liked), namely: if Michael Oher weighed 90 pounds soaking wet and showed zero athletic ability, would the well-off families who helped him still have put so much effort into his rescue? Would his adoptive parents and school officials have worked so hard to get him into college? Had the family who wanted to pull him out of his horrific upbringing NOT been wealthy, influential and white, would they have been able to quasi-adopt him?
There are several places in the book where Michael is torn between returning home to his estranged mother and staying with his adoptive family. He also wants to play basketball, but his benefactors push him into football because he's such a perfectly prototypical left tackle. (Football FYI: after quarterbacks, left tackles are, on average, the highest-paid offensive players in the NFL.)
This story is tailor-made for Hollywood, with all the big issues - race, class, redemption. Unfortunately, from the looks of the trailer, the film version of "The Blind Side" seems to center on the wife and mother of the family who takes Michael in. Not surprising, since she's played by Sandra Bullock. Sure, it's easier to get a film made if you can turn it into a vehicle for a star. But I'm disappointed to see that Michael's voice appears to be many rungs down on the importance ladder, as compared to Sandra.
Race, and class-based racism, played such enormous roles in Michael Oher's youth. As a teen, the kid had something like a first-grade reading level. That scene in the trailer about him never having had his own bed was straight out of the book. And the social agencies that were supposed to protect him lost track of him for years. I'm glad that Oher managed to get out of this situation (after a few years at Ole Miss, the Baltimore Ravens drafted him in the first round earlier this year). But there are thousands of other kids out there in the same circumstances who don't have his luck and physical gifts that, at the moment, happen to be in demand by pro teams.
I sincerely hope that this movie version doesn't ignore those realities in favor of giving us yet another iteration of Caucasian Mighty Mouse is Here to Save the Day."
Stuff Black People Don't Like strongly endorses The Michael Oher Story and the movie The Blind Side for all to see, for Disingenuous White Liberals and Crusading White Pedagogues worldview will be available for all to see in this film.

The thesis of the film: all Black children should be removed from their parents pronto, so that they can be privy to the glorious family setting that white people provide, for only a white family can provide stability (you have to love the movie poster for the film... a white woman pushing a large Black man to the promised land of football glory and NFL riches).

For only Miss Congeniality herself (Bullock) could dare bestow wisdom and intelligence upon Oher, and yet, Stuff Black People Don't Like includes the Michael Oher story. If you can't figure out why, then you don't understand SBPDL.

#414. The Reality of Cook County

Posted on 18:49 by Unknown

Black people love life under Mein Obama, the General Zod of Black people the world over. Regardless of the sorrowful state of the economy and the massive job loss for Black people, the admiration that Black people display for Obama will never cease.

More importantly Zod-Obama has empowered the most diverse cabinet in history with a plethora of color that no amount of bleach could ever impair:
"There are those who will never accept that and who seem to think that white males have a monopoly on merit. For them, this entire diversity accounting system is silly and even offensive. They insist that staffing a Cabinet should be like picking a doctor, where you choose the best person regardless of race or background. It's easy to say that when many of the people in government look like you."
No, when you go to a doctor, Black people prefer that that doctor look like them as well, regardless of their merit. Had Michael Jackson not practiced this logically line of thinking, he might still be with us today:
"Michael Jackson’s personal physician will be charged with manslaughter within the next two weeks, a law enforcement source told FOXNews.com."
Of course, no discussion of the greatness of Mein Obama could be complete without mentioning his move to anointing into paid government positions numerous Black people as Czars. Attorney General Eric Holder famously challenged white America (those cowards) to a debate about race:

"Race, Holder said, "is an issue we have never been at ease with and, given our nation's history, this is in some ways understandable. ... If we are to make progress in this area, we must feel comfortable enough with one another and tolerant enough of each other to have frank conversations about the racial matters that continue to divide us."

In his speech, Holder urged people of all races to use Black History Month as a chance for honest discussion of racial matters, including issues of health care, education and economic disparities. He also used more blunt language.

"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and I believe continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," Holder said."

A debate on race? That would probably mean Hate Facts would have to be brought into the equation and in polite society, that is just unacceptable, the truth be damned!

However, the cowards that are white people were presented with the disgraced former Czar of green jobs, Mr. Van Jones, and an interesting argument, as he said:
“You’ve never seen a Columbine done by a black child. Never. They always say, ‘We can’t believe it happened here. We can’t believe it was these suburban white kids.’ It’s only them. Now, a black kid might shoot another black kid. He’s not going to shoot up the whole school."
Now, you cowards who might be reading this, prepare to engage Attorney General Holder and the rest of the people who fall lock-step into formation behind Zod-Obama with the reality of Cook County, where a veritable Columbine happens daily in the streets:

"Chicago police geared up to provide extra security at Fenger High School on Monday as they reviewed a graphic amateur video showing a student beaten to death with wooden two-by-fours.

The nearly three-minute video, shot by a girl who attends Fenger, captured the gruesome melee as it unfolded. Derrion Albert, 16, is seen being struck then stumbling to the ground; teenagers then continued to viciously punch, kick and strike him with the wooden boards. The additional evidence is aiding the investigation, Chicago police said."
Ah, Chicago, the proud home of Zod-Obama, where in 2008 more murders were committed in the confines of that glorious city than soldiers were killed in Iraq:
Combine the two stories, and the whole 2008 picture — the picture unpainted by members of the media — is made clear:
  • 314 U.S. soldiers died in Iraq;
  • 509 people were murdered in Chicago.
Chicago is roughly 33 percent white, 33 percent Black and 33 Hispanic (okay, Mexican - but Black people don't like to acknowledge that they are now the #3 most populace racial group in America), yet this wonderful racial trifecta hardly correlates into a peaceful utopia (in 2009):

"Since January, according to the Chicago Police Department, one in 10 homicide victims has been 16 years old or younger. Since the last school year began, an estimated 45 Chicago public school students have been murdered, the majority of whom had no gang or criminal affiliation. According to the Chicago Sun Times, Chicago is also home to four of the 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in the country. In many instances, the elderly are being murdered in their own homes, women are being raped and killed coming home from work, and children are being shot - at an alarming rate - while riding their bikes, playing in the park, standing on the street or coming home from school.

Chicago Police Department said that, since January, more than 280 murders have occurred on the streets of Chicago, the majority of which have been with a firearm."
It would be rude to stop there, because Mr. Holder is correct, a national debate on race is vital to understanding the core problems of our nation and, alas, Van Jones was wrong, as Columbine didn't transpire on streets of Chicago over the Fourth of July, but a full-blown reenactment of Mogadishu did:
"The Chicago Tribune - which tracks murders in Chicago on a monthly basis - reported that July 9th, when one woman was strangled and another six people shot to death, was the deadliest day of 2009. During the 4th of July weekend - the bloodiest weekend to date - there were at least 63 shootings and one stabbing, resulting in the loss of 11 lives.

The ethnic breakdown of the victims and the perpetrators is also disturbing. In 2009, 88 percent of the murder victims were male and 78 percent of those victims were black. In 2008, when 511 murders were committed in Chicago, 74 percent of the victims were black and 76 percent of the perpetrators were also black."
Barack Obama's adopted home town, where he spent so many years as a community organizer is awash in the blood of Black people, at the hands of Black people. The building of the great racial bridge that would forever change Black people's fate in America - Zod-Obama's election - has failed to materialize.

Black school children are constantly under attack by other school children in Chicago, a horrifying problem that white people in St. Louis recently were exposed to on a bus, as the lust for violence is migrating to wherever Black people can be found:
"Chicago police officers secure the scene of yet another slaying. The city is setting a grim record this year and many of the victims are young people, as CBS News correspondent Dean Reynolds reports.

Thirty-two Chicago public school students have been killed so far this school year, according to the Chicago Police Department.

And what is almost as disconcerting is the adjustment the that city - and even the children themselves - seem to have made to this uncommon carnage."
The always interesting Drudge Report (Drudgereport.com) has been inundated with truculent images of Black people of late, from Serena Williams, Boise State, Kanye West, St. Louis bus beatings and now the nightmarish sight of Black people attacking a Black student - a straight A student - and beating him to death:

"This is the hard lesson some students at Fenger High School have to deal with after a day of learning. For them it's a hard lesson of reality on the streets.

Thursday after school, two rival gangs got into a fight three blocks from the high school.

In all four students were beaten in that melee -- one was released from the hospital Friday morning.

While police continue their investigation, some students say they don't want to go back to Fenger next week.

Rival gang members have been fighting for a month -- and each time one of their fellow classmates is injured.

No knives and no guns were used in Thursday's fight. Just fists, feet and boards."

Mein Obama failed as a community organizer in Chicago, as evidenced by the community he left behind in Chicago when he sought the US Senator seat in 2004. Van Jones failed in his attempt to denigrate white people as monopoly-holders in the Columbine massacre card, as any viewing of the local nightly news would show. Attorney General Holder has failed in his efforts to stem the growing tide of MARs and white people who are prepared for that national debate on race.

Each moment that ticks by that we as a nation refuse to confront the severity of the problem, more innocent lives like Mr. Albert in Chicago and Michael Jackson, will be lost.

Chicago is a wonderful city, as anyone who saw that metropolis act as a stand-in for Gotham City in the 2008 Hollywood mega-hit "The Dark Knight" could tell you.

However, Stuff Black People Don't Like dishearteningly includes the city that Zod-Obama cut his organizing teeth upon, as the reality of Cook County is beginning to cause those cowards that Mr. Holder caustically dismissed in February of 2009, realize Pre-Obama America wasn't so bad after all. If disingenuous white liberals and crusading white pedagogues ever realize that same reality, well... the chance of that happening is about the same as the Cubs winning the World Series.

Update: Youtube is deleting all videos of the horrible beating in Chicago. Click here to see the tragic death. You will need to verify your age.

#149. Accreditation

Posted on 19:58 by Unknown

Black people have long enjoyed the idea of being "separate and extra-equal" - an idea that they get to have their own institutions, schools and organizations, yet Black people also get to continue to garner affirmative action, victim status and laws that codify "hate crimes" as only those committed by white people against them and not vice-versa.

"Separate and extra-equal" also implies to the idea that Black people do not live near white people, but still are given extra rights which place them above the law and those very white people who live nowhere near them, like the disingenuous white liberal.

However, in the long struggle to remain "separate and extra-equal", Black people have hit a major impediment: accreditation.

Accreditation is:

"Educational accreditation is a type of quality assurance process under which services and operations of an educational institution or program are evaluated by an external body to determine if applicable standards are met. If standards are met, accredited status is granted by the agency."

In the past two decades alone, seven Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country have lost their accreditation:
“Historically black colleges represent only 4 percent of all higher-education institutions, but roughly 40 percent of all African-American students graduate from them,” said Dorothy Yancy, the president of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C.According to a study by Education Trust, 60 percent of the nation’s students complete their undergraduate studies in six years.
For an African-American student enrolled at a historically black college or university, where 70 percent of students are low income, the odds of completion are even lower, Sias said.
"Over the past two decades, at least seven historically black colleges have lost their accreditation. While some schools were able to regain their accreditation status, others, such as Knoxville College and Morris Brown College, remain open without regional accreditation.
So with 40 percent of Black people graduating from schools that are in jeopardy of losing their accreditation - schools no longer trusted to bestow a quality education to their students - what does that mean to the future of Black people everywhere?

There are not enough crusading white pedagogues to try and extirpate the racial gap in learning that exists between Black and white people and every other year another Historical Black College loses its accreditation.

Paul Quinn College, a Historically Black College in Texas, recently lost its accreditation:

"Paul Quinn College lost its accreditation on Thursday, one of several actions taken by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. "
The small, historically black Texas college had struggled for several years with financial and academic problems. The association’s Commission on Colleges had placed the institution on probation in 2007. "
“They had made progress … but they ran out of time before they could come into compliance on everything,” Belle S. Wheelan, president of the commission, told The Dallas Morning News.

Sadly, accreditation problems are not indigenous to Historically Black Colleges, as Clayton County Schools, in Clayton County, Georgia recently lost their accreditation:

"Clayton County schools are the first in the nation in the past 40 years to lose accreditation, failing to meet eight of nine improvement mandates...

That means that if Clayton meets the mandates by May, this year’s seniors could graduate with an accredited diploma...

A loss of accreditation means the 50,000 Clayton students could have trouble getting into some colleges and universities, or receiving scholarship money. High school juniors and seniors will be able to maintain Hope scholarship eligibility because of legislation signed earlier this year by Gov. Sonny Perdue."
Clayton County is a "suburb" of Atlanta and has a population that is 62 percent Black people and that number rises everyday. In almost every single way, shape and form possible, Black people run the local government, police department and Board of Education. And they obviously don't like accreditation as they were the first school system in 40 years in America to lose it.

Clayton County Public Schools are a beacon of hope to the rest of the increasingly non-white citizens of America of what the future will look educationally and how things will be run (pictures of Board of Education members can be found here... note the two crusading white pedagogues who are part of the Board) in the coming Black America.

Education is the foundation of any society and the ability or inability of preparing future generations of children to one day be civic leaders in society and take the reins of the nation and steer it into the future is becoming an increasingly shocking proposition and a conundrum to Black people, as evidenced by the loss of accreditation for so many of their schools.

Is it white racism that keeps these schools, full of Black people from performing? A lack of crusading white pedagogues?

Or, does Stuff Black People Don't Like include accreditation, because the assurance that the education an institution is providing through auditing and outside quality control mechanisms is really just a clever ploy of "The Man" to keep Black people and schools that are majority Black perpetually down?

Despite being "separate and extra-equal" Historically Black Colleges and school systems that are run by Black people are failing and this qualifies accreditation as the Stuff Black People Don't Like.

#73. Crusading White Pedagogues

Posted on 19:09 by Unknown

There a comes a time in every Black persons life when they are confronted with one; the overbearing, self-absorbed, holier-than-thou crusading white pedagogue whose mission in life is to eradicate Black failure in schools and close the racial gap in learning.

The white teacher - an obvious liberal, therefore steeped in white guilt and false in sincerity to Black persons eye - majors in English or Comparative Literature in college and then joins Teach For America or applies to majority Black school districts filled with underachieving Black students. Of course, the only reason they are underachieving is because the crusading white pedagogue has yet to bequeath the Black students with the limitless knowledge the teacher can bestow upon them, thereby closing the racial gap in learning that trillions of dollars have failed to do.

The racial gap in learning, which resembles the Grand Canyon in the difference between white and Black people achievement, is but a racist ploy to undermine and bring down the confidence of Black students by white people, in the eyes of the crusading white pedagogue, and only through the tutelage of white teachers can Black people build a bridge to eradicate the standard deviation difference between themselves and white students.

Black people don't like to be treated like animals, and white crusading pedagogues look at them as such and believe that with the proper work they can turn Black people into Pavlov's Dog and, consequently, they will all be Nobel Laureates in due time.

Crusading white pedagogues, when they fail to build the bridge and finally help extirpate the Black/white gap in achievement, still feel good about themselves and morally superior to other for, as Steve Sailer has written:
"Of course, in reality, "white guilt" turns out to be all about the individual white person's interests and needs to preen morally in order to demonstrate his superior social status over other white people. After all, when it comes to social-climbing, other white people are the competition."
However, the social experiment has still been attempted and white crusading pedagogues (demagogues in the eyes of their Black pupils) will have failed miserably in trying to throw nature out with a pitchfork.

Black people find it interesting that these same white crusading pedagogue's, who do everything in their power uplift their Black pupils, do not send their own white children to all-Black schools:

"The researchers found that regardless of income, more-educated whites in their data set also lived in “whiter” neighborhoods than less-educated whites..."

Even more interesting is the number of movies and television shows that have been made to glorify the crusading white pedagogue (a partial list is available here). Hollywood has attempted to glorify the white teacher to perpetuate the cycle: white person feels sorry for minority failure and blames it on his parents and his races evil past; majors in English or Comparative Literature; joins Teach for America or goes into all-Black school district to right the wrongs of Black failure in education; scores and graduation rates of Black students remains the same; crusading white pedagogue still feels morally superior to other whites, despite failing miserably at his/her task of helping out Black people.

Black people, regardless of test scores, graduation rates and drop-out rates in college, are smart. They can sense the disconnect between the legitimacy of a teacher who actually cares and a crusading white pedagogue. Stuff Black People Don't Like includes crusading white pedagogues, because Black people can smell the disingenuous odor of white paternalism, even under the masking perfume of white liberalism any day of the week.
