#98. Metallurgy

Posted on 21:21 by Unknown

Blacks are "sun people," Jeffries explains, and whites are "ice people." New York Newsday quoted Jeffries as telling his students last year, "Our thesis is that the sun people, the African family of warm communal hope, meets an antithesis, the vision of ice people, Europeans, colonizers, oppressors, the cold, rigid element in world history." Jeffries believes melanin, the dark skin pigment, gives blacks intellectual and physical superiority over whites.
- Professor Leonard Jeffries

The Ice People, in Leonard Jeffries view, represent evil personified for they have a heart of steel, as opposed to the warmth that emanates from the congenial soul of Black folk. All Black people know and understand - like Jeffries - that they are infinitely superior to white people in all accounted fields, from mathematics, physics, geology, astronomy and metallurgy.

It's a well-known fact that all human life originated out of Africa (The Out of Africa Theory, which rests as the foundational theorem of disingenuous white liberals worldview and thus, the dominant worldview of our world) and that every human alive - Ice People or not - must love Lucy:
"Perhaps the world's most famous early human ancestor, the 3.2-million-year-old ape "Lucy" was the first Australopithecus afarensis skeleton ever found, though her remains are only about 40 percent complete (photo of Lucy's bones)."
And yet, a paradox exists for Black people, who rightfully have great pride in their heritage back in Africa. For a people who failed to find the ingredients for alcohol in the hundreds of thousands of years of their evolution, are purportedly where all life began?

If so, the question must be asked: Why did intelligence blossom in Europe and Asia and miserably fail to evolve in Africa? Black people find this question difficult to digest, for if the history of the world where a delicious meal spread over a table, the contributions of Black people would be represented by a most unpleasant vegetable.

The Sun People, who were so easily colonized by Europeans once (and by the People's Republic of China now), look at the Out of Africa Theory with an unending sense of dread, for human life did indeed evolve outside of Africa and devolved in the land of I Love Lucy.

Take for instance metallurgy:

Process Metallurgy is one of the oldest applied sciences. Its history can be traced back to 6000 BC. Admittedly, its form at that time was rudimentary, but, to gain a perspective in Process Metallurgy, it is worthwhile to spend a little time studying the initiation of mankind's association with metals. Currently there are 86 known metals.

Before the 19th century only 24 of these metals had been discovered and, of these 24 metals, 12 were discovered in the 18th century. Therefore, from the discovery of the first metals - gold and copper until the end of the 17th century, some 7700 years, only 12 metals were known. Four of these metals, arsenic, antimony , zinc and bismuth , were discovered in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, while platinum was discovered in the 16th century. The other seven metals, known as the Metals of Antiquity, were the metals upon which civilisation was base."
The Europeans and Chinese (and Americans of European persuasion) are to be credited with most major discoveries in metallurgy, thereby finding the courage to circumvent the Out of Africa theory and discovering the courage from Lucy to tame the elements and discover new uses for metal to enhance not only the Ice People, but all people (Sun People included).

Black people though, still reeling from the reality of the Out of Africa Theory, hope in vain to see some evidence of metallurgy in Africa by resorting to the same tactics of alchemy used Nicholas Flamel to try and turn any evidence of smelting into a gold mine of hope for Black metallurgists:

"Around1,500-2,000 years ago, Africans living on the western shores of Lake Victoria, in Tanzania, had produced carbon steel that later gave life to the Industrial Revolution.

The Africans created pre-heated forced-draft furnaces, a method that was more sophisticated than any developed in Europe until the mid-19th century. It has been discovered that near Lake Victoria were 13 Iron Age furnaces that proved a technologically superior culture developed in Africa more than 1, 500 years ago overturns popular and scholarly ideas that technological sophistication developed in Europe but not in Africa.

The temperature achieved in the blast furnace of the African steel-smelting machine was higher than any achieved in a European machine until the Industrial Revolution. It was roughly 1,800 C some 200 to 400C higher that the highest reached in European cold blast bloomeries."

Sadly, the above quoted material comes from the pen of an Afro-Centrists author who distorted facts and created outright fabrications to try and cloud the obvious reality of metallurgy in Africa, for the historical forecast - er, record - is lacking of almost any credible evidence.

Wikipedia.org has an unintentionally hilarious entry on Iron Metallurgy in Africa, which any proponent of Afro-Centrism and the Out of Africa Theory would find heretical to their worldview:
The origin of iron metallurgy in Africa is hotly disputed by archaeologists. The first evidence for iron in Africa dates back as far as the second millennium BC. The vast scale of the continent, accessibility, political and cultural barriers have caused difficulties in finding a good database of evidence to help diagnose when and where origins lie. It has now been recognised that trying to put the origins in some kind of chronological order is not currently possible with the archaeological evidence available and controversial when attempted.
The reality of Metallurgy in Africa can be summed up by the experience of South Africans and the simply stated in the following few sentences, for Ponte City in Johannesburg, South Africa will stand as a strange artifact in the Land of Lucy as we go Back to Future and move into the world parodied by Mike Judge in Idiocracy:

Ponte City is a skyscraper in the Hillbrow neighbourhood of Johannesburg, South Africa. It was built in 1975 to a height of 173 metres, making it the tallest residential skyscraper in Africa. The 54-story building is cylindrical, with an open center allowing additional light into the apartments. The center space is known as "the core" and rises above an uneven rock floor. The building was designed by Manfred Hermer. Ponte City was an extremely desirable address for its views over all of Johannesburg and its surroundings.

During the 1990s, after the end of apartheid, many gangs moved into the building and it became extremely unsafe. Ponte City became symbolic of the crime and urban decay gripping the once cosmopolitan Hillbrow neighborhood. The core filled with debris five stories high as the owners left the building to decay.
One of the most impressive structures in all of Africa was built by Ice People, who invaded a largely uninhabited land and built a civilization unlike any seen on the continent, only to see it devolve into a murky sea of crime, corruption and five stories of trash in the middle of a glorious citadel that would only have existed in the most fantastical dreams of the Sun People.

In the end, the Sun People have to admit that Stuff Black People Don't Like includes Metallurgy, for being a Blacksmith is something that Black people just want to leave for those cold, Ice People to perform as their vocation.

The sad thing is, this isn't the only kind of metal that Black people don't like (that is what you call a teaser).
